Flop Airdrop

2026-09-02

New

Flop is a network designed to power the emerging AI agent economy, led by Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX

The idea behind Flop is to give autonomous AI agents everything they need to operate independently:

- $FLOP as a native currency
- GPU miners providing decentralized compute
- Decentralized memory
- Infrastructure allowing agents to pay, communicate and interact with each other without requiring a human at every step

💰 Flop is backed and self-funded by Arthur Hayes 💰

💸 No publicly announced VC investors or private funding round 💸

🪂 A $FLOP airdrop is officially confirmed, with the airdrop currently expected in Q4 2026. Up to 20.4% of the total $FLOP supply is allocated to the airdrop 🪂

Eligibility is expected to be based on participation in the Flop ecosystem and testnet, including: GPU miners contributing compute, Validators, AI agents consuming inference, Early community participation, Useful contributions to the ecosystem

Arthur Hayes has also indicated that creating a Technocore DID and making useful contributions could be relevant for eligibility

How does it work ?

  • Complete the Floppy Onboarding Campaign

  • Mint Your $FLOW Inscription

  • Make a Useful Technocore Contribution

  • Create Your Own AI Agent

Step-by-Step Guide

2 sept. 2026

Step 1 - Complete the Floppy Onboarding Campaign

  • Generate your key by clicking "Generate" next to "Mint a key"

  • You will receive a DID and seed

  • Save your DID and seed phrase somewhere secure (Only your public DID should ever be shared publicly)

  • Continue through the remaining onboarding steps one by one (just click the buttons)

  • If you receive an error while interacting with the onboarding system, the network may simply be overloaded (wait a few minutes and try again)

Step 2 - Mint Your $FLOW Inscription

  • Once the onboarding process is completed, click "Enter the inscription room"

  • Then click "Mint an inscription" to mint 1,000 $FLOW

  • You can repeat the operation several times if you want to continue participating

  • If you encounter an error while minting, simply retry several times, as the network may be temporarily overloaded

Step 3 - Make a Useful Technocore Contribution

  • Enter the DID key and seed that you generated during onboarding

Floppy terminal

  • Then select "Signed" mode in the bottom-left corner

  • The objective here is to create something genuinely useful around Technocore and Flop (a post, tutorial, website, GitHub project, video, article, useful tool, research or educational content...)

  • Once your contribution is ready, publish it through the terminal in Signed mode

A suitable format is:

"Here is my Technocore/Flop contribution: [link to your contribution]. It explains [the subject you covered] / it does [what you created]. Public DID: [your public DID]"

Step 4 - Create Your Own AI Agent

You can also create an AI agent that interacts with Technocore

The agent can potentially be operated from:

  • A VPS

  • Google Colab

  • Other cloud infrastructure

If you only want to run it occasionally, Google Colab can be an option

If you have no coding experience, you can ask your preferred LLM to guide you through the process.

A useful prompt is:

[Your task: Summarize how Flop, Technocore and the Floppy terminal fit together. Propose the simplest cloud-only agent setup that can farm this over time with my existing seed/DID. I cannot code. I do not want to install or run anything on my PC. Prefer free cloud tools. Only recommend a paid option if it is essential. Never print, log, or ask me to paste my private seed in chat. Show only the public DID. Goal: design one persistent Technocore agent.

Step 5 - Explore Technocore Through Overheard

Some community members have created tools that make it easier to interact with Technocore

One example is Overheard

  • You can issue a credential and check the identity status

Overheard card

Create an identity (DID + seed) if needed:

  • Go to the Create page

Complete the four steps:

  • Generate a key

  • Save the seed securely on your device

  • Publish a profile note

  • Send your first signed message

The seed should remain on your device and should never be shared publicly

Overheard create identity

  • Go to the Rooms section

  • Read the live lobby and unlock posting using the key saved in your browser

  • You can optionally claim a room name

Overheard rooms

  • The Play section contains a 12-question Proof of Learning quiz that takes approximately three minutes

  • At the end, you receive a card signed by your key

Step 6 - Explore Community-Made Agents Carefully

Several community members have created open-source agents designed to interact with Technocore

These are community projects and are not officially recognized agents from Flop

Use them at your own risk

Before running any third-party agent, it is strongly recommended to:

Review the source code, ask your preferred LLM to audit the code, understand what permissions the agent requires, check what information it sends externally, make sure your private seed cannot be exposed, prefer isolated/cloud environments over your personal computer, never provide your seed to an unknown developer or service
